Students should arrive on campus no earlier than 0840. Supervision will not be available before that time. Once on campus, students should walk to the bluetop and line up at their designated spot to wait for their teacher. Students should only enter the building through the door near the gymnasium to eat breakfast. They will not be permitted to go back and forth between the bluetop and cafeteria. Any student eating breakfast will be released to their classroom once the first bell rings at 0900. The second bell rings at 0905. Students arriving on campus after 0905 should report to the main office before going to their classroom.

Dismissal:

Students are released directly from their classroom beginning at ________. Unless attending an after school club, students are expected to leave the school grounds as soon as they are dismissed. Students with wheeled transportation should walk their ______ until they are off campus. Parents who pick up students are asked to use the designated pick-up areas and avoid the bus loop. Bus riders are expected to immediately report to their bus. School buses are scheduled to depart at 1525. It is advised that parents & students discuss the students after school plan prior to arriving at school. If there is a change in the way a student will depart afterschool, parents should contact the school no later than 1445 with the new information. For non-emergent situations, students will not be permitted to call home from the main office daily.

Tardiness/Late Arrivals to School

The 2nd bell rings at 0905. If a student arrives after the second bell rings, the parents/guardians are required to sign the student in at the main office where a tardy slip will be provided. Students cannot be dropped off after 0905 without any notification by the parents/guardians.

Early Student Arrivals

Students are not permitted in the school before or after school hours unless under the supervision of a teacher. There is no supervision for children before 0840.

Cancellation and Unscheduled Dismissal of School

It may be necessary at some point during the year to cancel/close the school due to political emergencies, strikes, facility breakdowns, weather, etc. If it is not possible to get written notice out to parents in advance, the U.S. Forces radio and TV will be used to broadcast changes. Parents should make arrangements for an alternative place for their children to go whenever there is no one at home to meet them. The decision to cancel school is made by the Base Commander. When school is canceled, all available communication systems will be used to notify parents as far in advance as possible.

Departure During The School Day

Parents are required to sign students out through the main office when picking up during the regular school day. Student cannot be released to non-family members without written verification from the sponsor.

If a parent needs to pick up a student before regular dismissal time, a note should be sent to the teacher and the office as soon as this need is known. Please do not contact the office unless it is an emergency. We make every effort not to disrupt classes.

A parent who wishes to take a student out of school during the school day (for a medical appointment for example), should send a note indicating the specific time the child should be released from class. The teacher will be contacted to send the student to the office. Please do not go to your student's classroom without checking with the office first.

Picking Up Students After School

Parents are not permitted to drive cars or park in the “AEIS STAFF ONLY” parking lot or the bus loading area.

When picking up students, parents should park in the designated areas. Double parking is illegal and cars that are double parked are subjected to ticketing.

If older siblings pick up students, parents should establish a meeting place outside of the building. Older siblings are not permitted to wait inside of the building for student dismissal.
